Anand Sweets and Savouries is a well-loved Indian mithai (sweets) and namkeen (savouries) business, founded in Bangalore over 30 years ago. With 10 large format stores across the city, Anand was facing the challenge of staying relevant in a time when consumption of traditional Indian sweets is declining.
In addition to reimagining the logo and identity, the packaging redesign challenge was to uplift the status of traditional mithai and namkeens while celebrating the the abundance of giving and receiving gifts. We attempted to capture the essence of abundance through influences of Indian folk crafts such as paper-cutting, bone inlay work and block-print. Vibrant colours, foiling and embossing all contribute to a feeling of everyday Indian luxury.
